Sr. Credit Officer Job Description

The Symicor Group is seeking a highly experienced Sr. Credit Officer to join our team in Boston, MA. As a key member of our client's leadership team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight for credit quality, loan operations, and loan compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the credit team and support loan products, policies, and procedures to ensure the overall quality of the Bank's lending portfolio.
  • Ensure high-quality credit analysis on individual loans, portfolio stress testing, and calculating monthly allocations to the Loan Loss Reserve (ALLL/CECL).
  • Assist in meeting annual loan growth goals assigned by senior management and the Board of Directors.
  • Coordinate external loan audits, including regulatory examinations.
  • Review large and complex loans prior to submission to the Officer's Loan Committee.
  • Organize and distribute credit information covering loan quality trends, growth indicators, and loan product concentrations.
  • Manage stress testing of the loan portfolio using the Bank's primary loan origination system software.
  • Ensure individual loans are risk-rated correctly when reviewing loans for Officer's Loan Committee approval.
  • Supervise the Bank's special assets area in curing weak credits, collection of such credits, or the movement of such undesirable credits.
  • Present and discuss loan information submitted to the Board of Directors for review.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related discipline.
  • Ten or more years of experience in credit at a bank or financial institution.
  • Strong credit leadership background in CRE, C&I, SBA 7a, and SBA 504.
  • Ability to monitor, analyze, and report key credit and portfolio metrics.
  • Advanced knowledge of related state and federal lending compliance regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to write effective credit write-ups and memorandums for lenders.
  • Ability to make credit decisions or recommendations based on industry credit practices, Bank policy and procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Strong leadership ability, written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
