Join Amazon's Compliance Shared Service (CoSS) Team as a Senior Applied Scientist, where you will leverage cutting-edge research in Natural Language Processing (NLP), multi-modal modeling, and continuous learning to enhance product compliance and safety standards globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on extensive datasets, including tabular, textual, and visual product information, to evaluate and enhance state-of-the-art algorithms.
- Develop innovative algorithms aimed at improving compliance mechanisms, focusing on areas such as synthetic data generation and active learning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and product managers, to implement new machine learning solutions across Amazon's product catalog.
- Design and oversee the collection of new labels and audit processes to strengthen product assurance and customer trust.
- Analyze research findings and communicate results effectively to stakeholders, contributing to the strategic roadmap for research and product development.
- Publish findings in both internal and external venues to share knowledge and advancements.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in developing machine learning models for business applications.
- PhD or Master's degree with at least 3 years of applied research experience.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python.
- Experience with deep learning methodologies and machine learning techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in a relevant field such as engineering, computer science, or statistics.
- Over 5 years of experience in building machine learning models or algorithms for business applications.
- Familiarity with modeling tools including R, TensorFlow, and scikit-learn.
- Experience in publishing research in top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
- Expertise in Large Language Models and advancements in multi-modal modeling.
- Ability to define and guide organizational research and development strategies.
- Strong capability to work collaboratively within a diverse team environment.

Compensation: Our compensation reflects the labor market across various US regions, with a base salary range from $150,400 to $260,000, depending on location and experience. In addition to base pay, we offer equity, sign-on bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package.
