CommuniCare Health Center is seeking a skilled EHR Application Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and availability of our Electronic Health Record (EHR) information systems.
Key Responsibilities- EHR Chart Maintenance: Perform a wide range of EHR file and chart maintenance tasks, including new patient setup, data entry, and chart updates.
- Protected Health Information (PHI) Release: Release PHI in compliance with CommuniCare policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
- EHR System Monitoring: Proactively monitor EHR charts, applications, and services to ensure high availability and integrity of data.
- Documentation and Training: Assist in documenting EHR chart maintenance processes and procedures, and provide training to staff as needed.
- Customer Support: Provide excellent internal and external customer service, and assist staff with EHR chart maintenance issues.
- Vendor Evaluation: Assist in evaluating vendors for procurement and maintenance of EHR IS infrastructures.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum one (1) year of experience in maintaining a robust Electronic Health Record information system, or college courses in Health Information Management.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of reporting requirements for governmental, public, private, and foundation grants/awards.
- Finger Dexterity: Using fingers to make small movements, such as typing or picking up small objects.
- Talking: Frequently conveying detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, clearly, or quickly.
- Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
- Repetitive Motions: Frequently and regularly using the wrists, hands, and fingers.
- Visual: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or other materials.
- Physical: Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. May have to lift folders, files, papers, audio/video equipment, and other such items weighing up to approximately 25 lbs.
