Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Operations Supervisor to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. Key Responsibilities
  • Assume responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, including providing work direction, expertise, and guidance to staff.
  • Ensure quality, regulatory, accreditation, and compliance standards are met.
  • Conduct staff meetings, address employee concerns and suggestions, and participate in customer service initiatives.
  • Coordinate orientation, training, and competency testing of staff and/or students.
  • Serve as a resource for internal and external clients, and as the primary communication link between the department and the manager.
  • Assist the manager in developing, implementing, and improving laboratory policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Establish, maintain, and review the preventative maintenance of all laboratory equipment, and direct corrective action.
  • Ensure compliance with current policies, procedures, and standardization and/or consolidation decisions.
  • Perform human resources responsibilities for staff, including coaching on performance, completing performance reviews, and promoting overall staff morale.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Biological Science or related field.
  • Typically requires 4 years of laboratory experience under the direction of a board-certified pathologist.
  • Two years of leadership experience in an accrediting organization, CAP, or any other lab accrediting agency.
