Science Educator II

Join the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) team as a Science Educator II, where you will deliver engaging learning experiences to visitors of all ages. As a key member of our education team, you will facilitate interactive programs, provide excellent customer service, and contribute to the development of our educational offerings.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and deliver high-quality educational programs for families, schools, and community groups, focusing on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) concepts.
- Collaborate with program managers and educators to design and implement new programs, ensuring alignment with OMSI's educational goals and standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service to visitors, responding to their questions and needs in a timely and professional manner.
- Contribute to the development of educational materials, including program guides, activity sheets, and other resources.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in informal science education and museum operations.
- Bachelor's degree in a science-related field or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in informal science education, program development, and delivery.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and customer service.
- Flexibility to work a variety of schedules, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Master's degree in a science-related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in a museum or science center setting.
- Knowledge of science education standards and best practices.
- Fluency in a second language (non-English).
