Job Summary

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing and managing the direct support staff that provides services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities residing at our Intermediate Care Facility (ICF).

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of the individuals served, making staff assignments, auditing documentation, providing training to staff, observing resident behavior, and participating as a member of the individual's care team.

Key Responsibilities

Assign staff to shifts and ensure adequate coverage
Audit documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness
Provide training to staff on new procedures and policies
Observe resident behavior and identify areas for improvement
Participate as a member of the individual's care team

Requirements

High School Diploma and four (4) years of experience in a related field
Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
Experience working with challenging behaviors
Ability to lift/push/transfer and/or carry up to 50 pounds without assistance and over 100 pounds with assistance

Working Conditions

Position requires daily driving to meet the needs of the program
Exposure to unpredictable violent behavior of the resident
Extensive personal computer and phone usage

Supplemental Information

This position is designated safety sensitive and requires a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) course is also required.
