Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Specialist

The Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration seeks an experienced Oral Maxillofacial Surgery specialist to join our team.
Salary$225,000 - $325,000 per year, depending on experience.
Job DescriptionWe are looking for a skilled dental officer to perform the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery. The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills and be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Make oral and radiographic examinations of the oral cavity and its adjacent tissues and structures.
- Diagnose and manage pathological or irregular oral conditions.
- Administer local and regional anesthesia, anxiolysis, and IV sedation procedures, as required by the clinical setting.
- Accomplish admissions, work-up, and performance of surgical procedures of patients presenting with illnesses, injuries, and disorders of both the functional and aesthetic aspects of the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial regions.
- Accomplish dental-alveolar surgical procedures, dental implant surgery, pre-prosthetic surgery, reduction of facial fractures, reconstructive surgery, management of localized and deep space infections, orthognathic surgery, temporomandibular joint surgery, placement of dental implants, minor and major bone grafting, and biopsy procedures and management of oral pathologic conditions, as required by the clinical setting.
- A degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery or dental medicine, completion of a residency program in general practice or specialty, and a current, full and unrestricted license to practice dentistry.
- Board certification within 5 years of OMFS residency completion is required.
- Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- Pass a pre-employment physical examination.
- Participate in the seasonal influenza vaccination program and the COVID-19 vaccination program.
