Facility Engineering Manager
The Facility Engineering Manager plays a pivotal role in steering the strategic vision for the engineering and maintenance team within the organization, emphasizing a culture of ongoing learning and enhancement.

This position requires the ability to inspire and lead teams, manage various initiatives, and demonstrate a track record of effective project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the formulation of strategic initiatives for the engineering and maintenance team.
  • Oversee capital and operational expenditures; ensure effective project initiation utilizing project management tools, including the establishment of equipment standards and specifications, factory acceptance testing protocols, and commissioning procedures.
  • Guide engineering personnel and project leaders during startup phases.
  • Champion the development and execution of safety, quality, continuous improvement, and customer service initiatives across the functional areas you oversee, serving as a resource and driving ownership throughout the facility.
  • Manage the asset management strategy for the facility, focusing on optimal utilization, replacement, upgrades, maintenance, and tracking.
  • Provide leadership for all utilities, infrastructure, and support functions within the facility.
  • Possess strong electrical and mechanical acumen; assist in advanced troubleshooting with the maintenance team, support breakdown analysis, and ensure the mitigation of failure points.
  • Ensure the functionality of machinery and mechanical systems by auditing preventive maintenance needs for motors, conveyor systems, production, and utility equipment, adhering to diagrams, operational manuals, manufacturer guidelines, and engineering specifications.
  • Facilitate the rollout of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) within the organization, particularly focusing on the preventive maintenance pillar.
  • Maintain seamless communication among work teams by documenting and sharing actions, issues, and ongoing opportunities.
  • Uphold a safe and organized work environment by adhering to established procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications:

  • Technical training beyond high school.
  • Proficient in interpreting mechanical drawings and schematics.
  • Ability to read electrical diagrams.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience, ideally within a food or pharmaceutical manufacturing context.
  • Experience with PLCs and the ability to read ladder diagrams; familiarity with variable frequency drives is highly desirable.
  • A background in packaging is advantageous.
