Position Overview

The Biomedical Equipment Technician I (BMET I) is responsible for delivering clinical equipment services under the guidance of TriMedx management. Key responsibilities include validating and inspecting clinical equipment for completeness, ensuring mechanical and electrical safety, and confirming proper functionality. The technician will also conduct scheduled maintenance inspections, calibrations, and repairs on various biomedical devices. Additionally, the BMET I will support fellow technicians in troubleshooting and repairing complex equipment. Key Responsibilities

Technical Services – 40%

Conduct performance assurance inspections, scheduled maintenance, electrical safety evaluations, and operational verification procedures on biomedical equipment. Repair, install, and calibrate general biomedical devices. Communicate with supervisors regarding repair statuses, scheduled inspections, unusual equipment conditions, and customer feedback. Collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and external service technicians to ensure effective service delivery. Maintain biomedical expertise through continuous training and education. Assist with special projects as assigned by service operations.

Regulatory Compliance – 25%

Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the equipment database, including inventory, performance assurance schedules, nomenclature, and service history. Comply with the Medical Equipment Management Plan, adhering to all regulatory agency requirements and applicable policies. Ensure all service documentation is complete, timely, and accurate.

Account Relationship Management – 25%

Build and maintain strong relationships with customers. Discuss equipment status and functionality with clinical staff. Uphold the Mission, Vision, and Values of the organizations served. Represent TriMedx services positively by integrating core values into daily performance.

Inventory Management – 10%

Conduct periodic assessments of current inventory status. Verify the completion of security analyses for new customer equipment. Perform incoming inspections to maintain an accurate inventory of medical devices, including trial, rental, and loaner equipment. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the equipment database. Provide recommendations regarding inventory management. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Proficient computer skills, including the ability to interpret error codes and perform hardware replacements. Ability to synthesize information from diverse sources. Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience

Associate's degree in a technical or electronics field, military experience, or two years of relevant experience. Preferred: 3 months of experience with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering setting. Valid driver's license required; travel may be necessary based on business needs.
