Job Summary

The Radiologic Technologist is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will work closely with our radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure that our patients receive the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and record patient history and reason for examination, interpreting the information to evaluate appropriateness of examination ordered.
  • Tailor the examination to meet the specific needs of the patient relative to physical abilities and age-specific needs.
  • Reconcile the patient's list of at-home medications, finding any conflicts with the use of contrast media.
  • Transport patients in a safe manner, assisting them in preparation for the examination or procedure in a professional manner ensuring patient privacy and comfort.
  • Operate equipment in compliance with manufacturing specifications, selecting proper technical factors based on the patient's body habitus, pathology, age, and physical abilities and limitations.
  • Provide radiation protection for the patient and fellow employees, being cognizant of age-specific issues related to radiation protection.
  • Demonstrate anatomy requested per examination, adhering to department examination protocols and standards of care.
  • Prepare completed images for reading by interpreting physician, demonstrating competency in using all software applications necessary in the completion of the examination.
  • Take department call as assigned, demonstrating commitment to continual learning, growth, and development by participating in continuing education activities and staying abreast of changing technology, new procedures, and protocols.
Requirements
  • High school degree or equivalent required. Graduation from an accredited two-year program in radiologic technology.
  • Current Medical Radiographer license or Temporary Medical Radiographer as defined by Nebraska Health and Human Services Regulation and Licensure - 18 months after date of issuance and not renewable.
  • Registration or registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • BLS certification required.
Physical Demands

The Radiologic Technologist must be able to sit frequently, stand and/or walk frequently, bend, stoop, and crouch frequently, reach floor-overhead frequently, and lift up to 50 pounds waist to shoulder height frequently. The ability to hear, speak, and see within normal limits for age and gender is also required.
