Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Welding Expert to join our team at General Dynamics Ordnance & Tactical Systems. As a Welder Specialist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of welding tasks, including MIG Pulse welding, to produce high-quality weldments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use welding equipment to produce maximum quantity of weldments without compromising quality or workmanship.
- Check parts and review quality to pre-determined standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and SOI's to ensure accurate production.
- Input data into the CIMA system for accurate labor reporting and part tracking.
Requirements:
- High school education or equivalent combination of experience.
- Texas Driver License.
- Knowledge of MIG Pulse welding.
- Ability to perform all steel/stainless/Armor welding functions as required by job tasks.
- Ability to perform any mechanical tasks as required by job assignment.
- Use of welding equipment, knowledge, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Functional math skills required to complete job tasks, communication skills, basic computer skills, and welder certification training.
- Ability to use all gages and instruments required to related job tasks.
- Normal vision or correctable to perform job tasks.
- Pass 3 of 4 GMAW Flat 1G weld tests.
Work Environment:
This is a high-paced production environment where you will be working with elevated temperatures, thick smoke, dirt, and grease. You will be physically able to lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs and handle materials up to 900 degrees with proper tools.
