We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Psych Tech to join our Behavioral Health Unit team. As a Psych Tech, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients, working under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct care to patients, including maintaining a safe and positive healing environment
- Utilize good judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to address patient needs
- Assist with crisis situations, utilizing hands-on techniques for patient stabilization and safety
- Serve as a liaison between patients, family members, and the care team
- Use communication skills to educate patients on proper coping techniques in accordance with their care plan
- Thorough knowledge and demonstrated expertise in a behavioral health setting, normally acquired through a bachelor's degree in psychology or social work with two or more years of related experience
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network
- Medical-surgical patient care or medical office experience preferred
