Sterilization Technician

Job Title: Sterilization Technician

Actalent seeks a skilled Sterilization Technician to join their team in Windham, Connecticut. This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 months.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective sterilization and maintenance of laboratory equipment. This includes sterilizing and/or removing used laboratory materials, washing, sterilizing, and preparing labware for laboratory use. Additionally, the candidate will develop labware use schedules based on the production schedule, run autoclaves according to specific customer requirements, and monitor the rotation, disposal, and replacement of plastic laboratory equipment.

• Develop and implement effective labware use schedules
  
• Operate autoclaves and other equipment to ensure proper sterilization and maintenance
  
• Monitor and maintain the rotation, disposal, and replacement of plastic laboratory equipment
  
• Train and direct lab technicians as needed
  
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks
  

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of laboratory equipment and procedures, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities is also essential.

The employee will regularly be required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
