Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electro Mechanical Technician I to join our team at Mohawk Industries. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for providing mechanical and electrical support to ensure efficiency and quality in the production of laminate flooring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comply with all company safety rules and procedures.
  • Monitor and react to routine demand maintenance requirements.
  • Participate in routine Preventive/Predictable Maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot equipment stoppages and react accordingly.
  • Utilize various mechanical and electrical test equipment.
  • Assist with manufacturing during product change-over.
  • Plan, assist, document, and implement process improvement techniques and devices.
  • Utilize machining, electrical, and mechanical trade skills to complete daily tasks.
  • Communicate with production and other various customers as needed.
  • Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision.
  • Follow all established standard operating procedures.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Formal training and practical experience in an industrial setting preferred.
  • Associates degree in applied technology in industrial/manufacturing or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with high pressure hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated material handling utilizing 480vac VFD's, and PLC control logic troubleshooting.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently on projects from conception to completion.
  • Ability to produce technical reports and update drawings.
  • Light machining and welding skills.
  • Light fabrication skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to interpret and produce mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
Working Conditions
  • This position requires the team member to work with machinery in an environment where there may be regular exposure to noise from machinery, dust, fumes, and variable temperatures.
  • Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required and may include eye protection, hearing protection, safety shoes, and high visibility clothing.
  • Other working conditions may include working 12 hours shift and a fixed shift rotation, including holidays.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.; walking, bending, squatting, climbing ladders, and stairs are required.
