Job Overview

We are looking for a dedicated PRN Radiology Interventional Specialist to join our team, providing essential clinical expertise to guarantee that all patients receive top-notch, efficient care.

The Radiology Interventional Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting and supporting Interventional & Neuro Radiologists by maintaining sterile environments, preparing procedural trays, and managing procedural supplies. This position encompasses both administrative and technical responsibilities.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts Interventional & Neuro Radiology examinations in accordance with established protocols and within designated timeframes, ensuring high standards of patient care.
  • Accurately charges for procedures and associated supplies upon completion.
  • Provides post-procedure care to patients, which includes holding pressure and performing cleaning, suturing, and bandaging of the procedure site, while also obtaining informed consent.
  • Collaborates effectively with healthcare team members during specific procedures and treatments; shares knowledge and expertise, supports co-workers, fosters teamwork, and contributes to collective goals.
  • Reviews the quality of radiographs to ensure compliance with quality standards and demonstrates understanding of the Code of Conduct and the occurrence reporting system.
  • Executes protocols correctly on all radiographic equipment.
  • Gathers patient history and retrieves necessary orders or prior images.
  • Completes documentation accurately, including patient demographics, images, and dose data.
  • Manages patient flow and verifies daily lists to ensure all examinations are completed.
  • Supports ALARA principles by alerting physicians regarding intra-procedure dose thresholds.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of departmental work areas (cleaning, stocking, etc.).

Required Qualifications:

  • R.T.(R) (ARRT), SCRQSA Registry is mandatory.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • Graduate from an AMA accredited Radiologic Technology program and ARRT certification is essential.
  • Availability for rotating weekends and 30-minute call during weekdays is necessary.
  • Previous experience in Interventional Radiology is highly preferred.
  • Certifications in VI, CI, CV, and ACLS are advantageous.
