JOB SUMMARY/DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for the operation and maintenance of systems related to a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) facility, ensuring safety and adherence to procedures to enhance performance for both employees and contractors.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and proactively engage with relevant agencies to prevent violations.
  • Participate in a multi-year Production Technician skill development program to acquire essential maintenance and operational skills, aiming for board operator qualifications.
  • Conduct job briefings and safety meetings, ensuring contractor safety and providing orientations as necessary.
  • Utilize knowledge of plant systems, schematics, hydraulics, regulating devices, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Operational responsibilities include managing the control board, conducting operational rounds, performing preventive maintenance, monitoring water chemistry, and calibrating emissions systems.
  • Conduct inspections, repairs, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of complex mechanical systems, both independently and as part of a team, including instrumentation and electrical equipment.
Additional Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Ensure safe and reliable operations during commissioning and regular operations post-commercial operation date.
  • Assist the site team in program development and adherence to processes for a newly constructed CCGT power plant.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate operational programs using metrics and key results.
  • Support the operations team in pre-commercial commissioning activities, collaborating with engineering and construction partners to uphold high standards.
  • Leverage lessons learned to refine operating procedures, training plans, and management strategies.
  • Network with partners to meet commissioning schedules and resource requirements.
  • Ensure all commissioning reports and documentation are managed according to policy.
  • Complete all required training from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partners.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Education:
  • 2 Year Associate's Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Production/Process Technology, or equivalent experience.
Minimum Experience:
  • Production Technician III: 0 - 2 years in a CCGT facility or 4 years in power plant operations/maintenance.
  • Production Technician II - I: 2 - 5 years in a CCGT facility or 5 years in power plant operations/maintenance.
  • Production Technician CRO: 5+ years in a CCGT facility or 10 years in power plant operations/maintenance.
Preferred:
  • Experience with CCGT technology.
  • 2-3 years in industrial/power plant roles.
  • Commissioning experience.
  • Relevant operations and maintenance skills.

Minimum Skills:
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for reporting evaluations to supervision.
  • Ability to interpret and understand P&ID's, mechanical drawings, and OEM manuals.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Minimum Certifications/Licensing/Testing:
  • Successful completion of the EEI POSS/MASS Test.
