Job Description:

As a Product Engineer at 3M, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse team of innovative professionals to design and develop cutting-edge hardgoods products. Your expertise in mechanical engineering, materials science, or a related field will be instrumental in driving the success of our products.

The Impact You'll Make:

  • Support the development of a portfolio of hardgoods products, including applicators, disposable mixing nozzles, and spray nozzles.
  • Collaborate with global teams to identify and implement new solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the business and drive growth initiatives through cost-down initiatives and redesigning parts as required.

Your Skills and Expertise:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with Solidworks and CAD software or similar design suites.
  • Experience in design, drafting, and production of hardgoods products.
  • Experience in liquid dispensing or automation.
  • Experience organizing and communicating with external certification agencies.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully developing and commercializing products.
  • Excellent technical judgment and ability to set logical action plans for design challenges and technical problem resolution.
  • Self-starter with strong interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills.
  • Results-driven and self-motivated, with a growth mindset.

Work Environment:

This role is hybrid eligible, allowing for some remote work, but requiring travel to Maplewood, MN at least 3 days per week. May include up to 20% domestic/international travel.
