Hermeus is seeking experienced electrical engineers to join our avionics team. As a senior avionics electrical engineer, you will play a key role in designing and testing custom electrical systems for ground test and flight applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and test electrical systems for supersonic and hypersonic flight
  • Ensure seamless integration and compatibility of designs at the sub-system and integrated system level
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create control and instrumentation systems for engine, structural, hydraulic, and electrical systems
Requirements
  • BS Electrical Engineering or similar
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical hardware design, control systems, instrumentation and signal conditioning, digital communication busses, analog design and simulation, power electronics, harness design
  • Strong analysis and troubleshooting skills
  • Bias towards action and willingness to work hands-on
Desired Multipliers
  • MS Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or similar
  • Demonstrated project experience with embedded design, device integration, V&V, environmental qualification and/or flight testing
  • Familiarity with test and simulation tools (DMM, Oscilloscope, power supplies, SPICE, Ansys)
  • Experience with electrical and mechanical design and version control software (Altium Designer, Siemens NX, Teamcenter, Capital Harness, Git, Teamcenter)
  • Experience with avionics devices and protocols (RS-485, ARINC-685, FPGAs, GPS, INS, D38999 style connectors, etc.)
  • Familiarity with aerospace industry standards (IPC-620, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, MIL-HDBK-516C, MIL-STD-464D, DO-160G)
  • Experience working with DC power systems (Batteries, Motors, Generators, etc.)
  • Engineering project team experience
