Job Summary

The Customer Service Representative Sr is the first line of contact for members and providers, assisting with questions related to Medical programs for Orange County. The incumbent resolves member inquiries and complaints fairly and effectively.

Main Responsibilities
  • Participate in a mission-driven culture of high-quality performance, focusing on customer service, consistency, dignity, and accountability.
  • Collaborate with team members to carry out department responsibilities and support short- and long-term goals/priorities.
  • Address member inquiries, questions, and concerns, including enrollment, claims, benefit interpretation, and referrals/authorizations for medical care.
  • Verify member eligibility, claim, and authorization status for providers.
  • Ensure thorough follow-up and completion of all member and provider inquiries or requests.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Familiarity with managed health care principles and practices, health care systems, and medical terminology.
  • Effective customer service principles and techniques.
  • Proficiency in personal computers, keyboarding, and software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office) to produce correspondence, charts, spreadsheets, and other information.
Estimated Salary: $21.15 - $26.83/hrRequired Experience and Education
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a customer/member service or call center capacity.
  • Bilingual in English and one of the defined threshold languages (Arabic, Farsi, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Vietnamese) required.
