The Associate Counsel will directly report to the General Counsel, collaborate closely with the firm's leadership, and manage a diverse array of intricate commercial real estate issues. Key Responsibilities of the Associate Counsel:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal documents, including purchase and sale agreements, access agreements, closing documents, loan documents, leases, operating agreements, and other legal documents pertinent to real estate;
- Collaborate effectively with the Legal, Asset Management, Leasing, Development, and Acquisitions Teams;
- Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of due diligence materials;
- Perform additional duties as assigned, which may include providing on-demand legal counsel and support for various projects and initiatives.
Qualifications for the Associate Counsel:
- 3 to 9 years of experience in complex commercial real estate across all facets, including acquisitions and dispositions, development, financing, and leasing. Experience in a large law firm is preferred;
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills in significant transactions;
- Exceptional oral and written communication abilities;
- Highly organized with the capacity to work efficiently and independently;
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks and priorities, delivering detailed and accurate results in a well-organized manner;
- Juris Doctor degree and in good standing in at least one state, with the capability to waive into the Illinois bar.
