Cashier at Bass Pro Shops

POSITION SUMMARY:

The cashier position at Bass Pro Shops is essential for providing excellent service to customers during their purchasing experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Welcome customers as they enter and exit the store.
  • Maintain a friendly demeanor and be prepared to assist customers at all times.
  • Handle all transactions using the point-of-sale system efficiently.
  • Ensure that checkout stations are consistently staffed.
  • Manage cash flow accurately and keep financial transactions organized.
  • Maintain a tidy and orderly checkout area.
  • Stay informed about store promotions and customer loyalty programs.
  • Bag items efficiently and respond to customer requests.
  • Answer phone inquiries and assist with special orders as needed.
  • Engage in additional tasks during downtime, including supporting other departments.
  • Perform any other responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Prior experience in customer service roles.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new systems and procedures.
  • Self-driven and capable of working independently.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to navigate the workspace freely.
  • Job may require various physical activities including sitting, standing, bending, and climbing.

SUPERVISORY GUIDANCE:

  • Tasks are performed under direct supervision with established policies and procedures.
  • Work is evaluated by a supervisor with limited scope for independent decision-making.
