Maintenance Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Apartment Management Consultants. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and upkeep of our property buildings and grounds.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure the property remains in good condition.
  • Prepare vacant units for occupancy by conducting thorough inspections and making necessary repairs.
  • Maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring that all necessary tools are on hand.
  • Report any unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding the property or residents to management.
  • Ensure a professional appearance by maintaining the required property uniform.
  • Operate within OSHA standards and company safety policies at all times.
  • Be available to work on an on-call basis and respond to service requests in a timely manner.
  • Secure the maintenance shop(s) at the close of every workday and remove snow and ice as necessary.
  • Handle all lock-outs as a result of evictions and provide 24-hour response to service requests.

Requirements:

  • Ability to operate various hand tools, including power tools.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Property maintenance/handyman experience.

Compensation:

Full-time employees earn $24.00 to $26.00 per hour, with vacation and sick time, health and wellness programs, and a 401(k) plan with employer match.
