POSITION DESCRIPTION
UCLA Extension is recognized as a premier institution, serving over 35,000 learners annually with approximately 4,500 classes and non-degree certificate programs tailored to the professional development, continuing education, and personal enrichment needs of a diverse range of nontraditional students and organizations.
Course / Program Description
The Department of Engineering provides a broad array of certificate programs and courses, including post-baccalaureate credit-bearing (400-level) and continuing education (CEU) credit courses. The disciplines covered include engineering and technical management. UCLA Extension courses and certificate programs offer learners the chance to engage with highly qualified professionals who possess advanced degrees and a passion for teaching, ensuring the transfer of knowledge in their respective fields.
Job Description
The role involves instructing in Blockchain Technology Management through fully online courses on a quarterly basis.
We seek experienced professionals who can share their industry insights and expertise with our students, utilizing real-world examples and practical applications of the course content. Relevant industry experience is essential.
Multiple positions are available within the Blockchain Technology Management program. We encourage qualified candidates with current knowledge and teaching experience in the following areas to apply:
• Fundamentals of Blockchain Management
• Blockchain Solutions, Governance, and Collaboration
• Digital Transformation: Blockchain, IoT, AI, and Trusted Data
• Blockchain Technology Adoption and Implementation
• Cryptocurrency and Blockchain Business and Applications
Instructor Duties:
• Develop and/or revise existing course syllabi in collaboration with the UCLA Extension Program Director, utilizing the approved syllabus template.
• Prepare course materials and assessments in Canvas, or update existing resources.
• Clearly communicate course objectives and specific learning outcomes to students.
• Conduct weekly online office hours via Zoom for student engagement and Q&A.
• Engage with students' discussion posts on Canvas regularly to foster collaboration and enhance the online learning experience.
• Monitor student progress throughout the course and provide timely grading.
• Address student inquiries and learning needs promptly.
• Submit final letter grades in the designated portal at the end of each quarter.

QUALIFICATIONS
Basic qualifications
• A passion for teaching, subject matter expertise, and commitment to course development and maintenance.
• MBA, MA, or MS with a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience OR a Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of relevant industry experience.
• Professionals who are current with the latest tools, technologies, and innovations in the industry.
• Professionals holding key positions within their fields.
• Teaching experience at the college level or higher (Preferred)
• Experience in curriculum design on Canvas (or similar platforms) and assessing student performance (Preferred)
