Key Responsibilities- Represent clients in all aspects of construction litigation, including contract disputes, construction defects, delay and disruption claims, and insurance coverage issues.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents related to construction litigation.
- Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda, pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Manage all aspects of the discovery process, including taking and defending depositions, propounding and responding to discovery requests, and preparing for and attending court hearings and trials.
- Provide legal advice and consultation to clients on a variety of construction-related matters.
- Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure effective case management.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws, regulations, and industry trends that impact construction litigation.
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the State Bar and in good standing.
- A minimum of 4-7 years of experience in construction litigation or commercial litigation with a desire to focus and develop a construction-focused practice.
- Exceptional legal writing and research skills.
- Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience in dispute resolution.
- Experience in civil litigation, including managing the discovery process and trial preparation.
- Familiarity with legal case management and legal contract review.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and team members.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a high caseload while maintaining high-quality work product.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
