Position Overview
Role Summary

Nuvance Health operates a comprehensive network of hospitals and outpatient facilities, including multiple locations in Connecticut and New York, providing essential healthcare services. Our organization is dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care through various specialties, including cardiology and urgent care.

We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to deliver both direct and indirect patient care as part of a collaborative healthcare team, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and alongside Patient Care Technicians (PCTs). This role is crucial in addressing the current demands for patient care within our emergency department.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct patient care in accordance with LPN standards and established nursing protocols - 40%
  • Accurately document patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) under RN supervision, including vital signs, medication administration, and patient assessments - 15%
  • Work collaboratively with RNs and healthcare team members to ensure a safe and supportive environment for patients - 20%
  • Prepare and administer medications safely to assigned patients - 10%
  • Conduct standard diagnostic procedures such as EKGs and phlebotomy, and collect specimens as required - 5%
  • Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients - 10%
  • Engage in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to team-building activities - 3%
  • Maintain clinical competencies and participate in mandatory educational programs - 2%

Qualifications:
  • Current LPN license
  • Completion of an accredited LPN program
  • BLS certification
  • 1-2 years of recent nursing experience preferred
  • Knowledge of infection control practices and critical thinking skills
  • Familiarity with EMR documentation systems

Work Schedule:
Full-Time, Evening/Night Shift, 36 hours per week

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate based on experience
