Job Summary:

Capstone Investment Advisors is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying data ingestion and processing pipelines and tools utilizing Python, Linux, and the AWS Cloud platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of a cutting-edge real-time market data platform.
  • Collaborate with various backend database systems, including MS SQL Server, AWS Redshift, Cassandra, Snowflake, and MongoDB.
  • Enhance and create APIs and libraries to facilitate access to the firm's centralized data platform (Datalake).
  • Take the lead on constructing a robust data and information framework for the future.
  • Drive ad hoc projects focusing on data assessment, routine data library reviews, and website development.
  • Establish yourself as an expert on diverse market and alternative datasets utilized for alpha research and trading strategies across multiple asset classes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of data engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in Python coding and operating within a Linux environment.
  • Hands-on experience with commercial database engines like MS SQL Server and cloud-based databases such as Redshift or Apache Cassandra.
  • Familiarity with the AWS ecosystem, particularly S3 and Lambda functions, is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Genuine interest in finance and a drive to construct a robust data and information framework for the future.
  • Effective and concise communication skills in both written and verbal forms.
  • A Master's degree in mathematics, computer science, financial engineering, or related technical disciplines is a significant asset.
