Job Summary

CTL Engineering is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a key role in performing geotechnical explorations and investigations for our clients. You will leverage your expertise and creative problem-solving skills while collaborating closely with institutions/municipal agencies, Architects, Engineers, Developers, and project teams to deliver customized geotechnical studies, reports, and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Performing geotechnical explorations, site characterizations, and risk evaluation on developments.
  • Training and supervision of lab technicians, maintenance of quality reviews and certifications, management of equipment inventory and calibration, client marketing and proposal preparation.
  • Ability to work independently on broad projects with oversight/supervision by the Dept. Manager.
  • Providing direction on a project to project basis – i.e. preparing lab testing assignments, reviewing documents, and testing results for content and accuracy.
  • Preparing geotechnical engineering reports.
  • Interacting with clients on technical aspects of the projects.
  • Reviewing soils laboratory test results.
  • Assisting in planning and the execution of subsurface investigation programs - including the understanding of project design plans, locating test borings at project sites, coordinating underground utility clearance.
  • Design development and analysis of earth embankments, earth retaining structures and anchoring systems.
  • Performing analysis and design of shallow and deep foundations and slope stability evaluations.
  • Monitoring and enforcing quality control standards and specifications.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience (ideally 4-7 yrs of experience) in consulting engineering on various civil projects.
  • E.I. credentialing is required.
  • Already having PE licensure is a strong plus.
