Purpose:
The main objective of this role is to deliver consistent daily nursing assistance and services to each assigned resident, following their assessment and care plan, while adhering to directives from supervisors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize identification methods to confirm resident identity prior to administering treatments or serving meals.
- Employ only sanctioned abbreviations when documenting information.
- Promptly report any changes in resident conditions to the Nurse Supervisor or Charge Nurse.
- Document all interactions on flow sheets, notes, and charts in a clear and informative manner.
- Immediately report any accidents or incidents observed during the shift.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident health information and report any suspected breaches to the Administrator.
- Notify the facility of any unauthorized attempts to access information systems.
- Perform only those nursing procedures for which you have received training.
- Prepare the resident's room for their arrival, ensuring it is welcoming and organized.
- Assist residents in settling into their rooms and introduce them to staff and other residents.
- Ensure residents are comfortable and their personal belongings are accounted for.
- Help residents with packing and moving personal items during transfers or discharges.
- Transport residents as needed within the facility.
- Foster a warm and positive atmosphere while maintaining a calm environment throughout the unit.
- Engage in regular meetings with nursing staff to address and improve service delivery.
- Document and address any complaints or grievances from residents.
- Participate in nursing reports as required.
- Adhere to established safety protocols regarding exposure to bodily fluids.
- Assist with basic personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Monitor residents to ensure their personal care needs are met and provide assistance as necessary.
- Ensure residents have access to clean water and assist with meal care.
- Support residents during medical preparations and examinations.
- Report any signs of skin issues or injuries to nursing staff.
- Maintain confidentiality and report any allegations of resident mistreatment.
- Respect residents' rights to refuse treatment and communicate such requests to supervisors.
Must possess at least a 10th-grade education and be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant as per state regulations. CPR certification is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate, conducive to providing quality care.
