About this Job

The Custodian Full-time works under the direction of the Facility Manager and/or Assistant Facility Manager, ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of facilities in accordance with DPS guidelines. This role involves performing a wide range of tasks, including cleaning, dusting, sweeping, sanitizing, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, and shampooing facility surfaces and floors.

Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain facilities, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and other areas
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, including vacuums, mops, and scrubbers
  • Remove graffiti, gum, and other markings from facility surfaces
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly and facility systems operate efficiently
  • Assist with minor maintenance activities, such as repairing minor irrigation system issues and performing snow removal
Requirements
  • Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Pass a reading test administered by Denver Public Schools
  • Successfully complete and pass a paid housekeeping course (20 hour course over 5 days)
  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado
  • Have the ability to meet the physical demands of the position
