Alden Courts of Shorewood is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the well-being of our residents.
Job SummaryWe are looking for a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care to our customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising nursing assistants, developing care plans, and ensuring that all nursing procedures and protocols are followed.
Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to customers, including administering medications, performing routine charting duties, and participating in the orientation of new customers and family members.
- Supervise nursing assistants and ensure that all nursing procedures and protocols are followed.
- Develop and implement care plans for each customer, identifying their problems and needs.
- Attend and participate in customer care plan conferences, as directed.
- Report all concerns and complaints made by customers or their family members to the Administrator.
- Counsel and discipline nursing personnel, as requested or necessary.
- Make daily rounds to ensure that nursing personnel are performing required duties and that appropriate procedures are being followed.
- Ensure that the nurses' notes and monthly summaries reflect the care plan and are being followed.
- Attend staff meetings, as directed.
- Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a RN or LPN in the State of Illinois and/or Wisconsin.
- Must possess current CPR certificate or become certified within two weeks of employment.
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with customers, family members, visitors, personnel, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
- Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
The Registered Nurse will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a team environment and maintain a calm and professional demeanor, even in stressful situations.
