Chemical Formulator

Atrium Staffing is partnering with a leader in the flavor and fragrance industry to find a skilled Chemical Formulator (2nd or 3rd Shift).

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in compounding and be proficient in basic math skills. They should also be familiar with computer systems used for batching and have experience with dispensing, batch-processing, and operating automated dosing systems.

The Chemical Formulator will be responsible for the precise mixing and compounding of flavor ingredients according to specified formulas. They will accurately follow formulas and process instructions to compound and blend flavor ingredients.

The responsibilities of the Chemical Formulator include:

• Operating heating and cooling systems to achieve the desired consistency and quality of batches
• Inspecting raw materials for correct color, odor, and quality, and reporting any discrepancies to the supervisor and Quality Control (QC)
• Processing samples and maintaining proper documentation for quality checks
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspace
• Ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations at all times
• Demonstrating expertise in compounding formulas, making precise adjustments, and handling both liquid and solid materials
• Utilizing automated systems for batching and barcoding
