The HVAC Maintenance Specialist is tasked with executing the upkeep, troubleshooting, and installation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and building management systems. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of HVAC principles and operational procedures.
Primary Duties:- Calibrates and maintains both electric and pneumatic components
- Replaces electrical components within mechanical systems
- Operates Central Plant machinery for institutional facilities
- Cleans and adjusts Variable Frequency Drives
- Repairs piping infrastructures
- Services and installs air conditioning systems and heat pumps
- Conducts water treatment and testing
- Performs additional responsibilities as assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a Trade School program or demonstrated mechanical skills preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC technology
- Experience in a Direct Digital Controls (DDC) setting
- EPA refrigerant certification is mandatory
- Possession of a valid driver's license and insurance
- Background clearance is necessary
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
- Capability to work in secure environments
- Familiarity with control systems and electrical schematics
- Ability to utilize electrical measuring instruments
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to manage various environmental conditions
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
- Frequent standing, bending, pushing, and climbing
- Work in diverse settings
