Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Oncology Infusion Specialist to join our team at Medicine Journal. This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a high level of clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

About the Role

This position will be responsible for administering chemotherapy, immuno-therapies, biologics, antibiotics, IV fluids, blood products, medications administered by mouth, subcutaneous and intra-muscular injections to patients undergoing treatment for various types of cancer. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of oncology nursing principles, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer chemotherapy, immuno-therapies, biologics, antibiotics, IV fluids, blood products, medications administered by mouth, subcutaneous and intra-muscular injections to patients undergoing treatment for various types of cancer.
  • Educate patients on their drug regimen and its side effects, as well as available resources to help manage side effects, social and financial issues.
  • Maintain licensure for nursing, certificate for chemotherapy administration, and BLS for healthcare providers.
  • Effectively communicate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure seamless delivery of patient care.
Requirements
  • Current licensure privileges to practice nursing in the state of Tennessee.
  • BLS completed prior to going to unit/department and maintained ongoing thereafter.
  • Certificate in Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration within 9 months of completing unit orientation.
  • Preferred: Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN) or other nationally recognized certification in area of practice.
Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
