We specialize in a unique logistics model: We own and operate our own warehouses, fleet, forklifts, and other key equipment. We have decades of experience in fast-moving inventory, especially food and beverages, and also are veteran handlers of glass, paper, automotive supplies, and more. With our staff of more than 350, we operate over 4 million square feet of warehouse space strategically placed throughout Ohio, Indiana, South Carolina, Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky, Georgia and Texas.

We are currently seeking an experienced Safety Manager to join our team in Columbus, OH. This individual will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety policies and procedures to create a secure and compliant working environment company-wide. The primary goal is to minimize accidents, injuries, and occupational hazards while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor OSHA standards and employment law changes, making recommendations for policy/procedure revisions as needed.
  • Manage and implement company-wide safety programs to ensure OSHA compliance.
  • Manage Equipment Operator Training Programs and administer certifications.
  • Promote a culture that fosters excellence in safety, customer service, and commitment to safe driving.
  • Manage training requirements through our Learning Management System and administer all driver and equipment operator training.
  • Enforce policies and procedures to create and maintain a culture of health, safety, and compliance.
  • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
  • Record monthly safety meetings and conduct audits to facilitate manager bonus distribution during HR quarterly calls.
  • Conduct audits for all weekly inspections, monthly inspections, and forklift inspections.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Develop and recommend changes to risk management strategies.
  • Perform regular audits of company safety processes and procedures to maintain compliance.
  • Liaise with warehouse managers to ensure that all operations are in line with company policies.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for all injury/accident reporting.
  • Administer the Quarterly Random Drug Testing Program in collaboration with our Third-Party Vendor, including sending active headcount for both DOT and non-DOT employees to our TPA, scheduling drug tests, and notifying managers of the date/time for testing.

Requirements:

  • Good character and integrity
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Specific understanding of OSHA, FMCSA, and DOT requirements
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
