Substance Abuse Recovery Nurse
Location: Canaan, CT
Role Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to become a vital part of our team in Canaan, CT. The Recovery Nurse will play a crucial role in managing the health and medical care of our clients enrolled in the Detoxification Program. Responsibilities include performing initial nursing evaluations, administering medications in accordance with detoxification protocols, and closely monitoring client progress to facilitate a successful recovery journey. The ideal candidate will collaborate with our multidisciplinary team and participate in all pertinent meetings.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time role requiring 36 hours per week, structured around a 3-week rotating shift schedule. Available shift options include:
- Day Shift: 7am-7pm
- Night Shift: 7pm-7am
We also offer per diem positions as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments upon client intake
- Ensure safe and accurate medication administration
- Maintain precise medical documentation
- Monitor client health status and address any emerging issues
- Implement detoxification protocols and procedures effectively
- Observe and report on client withdrawal symptoms
- Communicate any concerns to the healthcare team
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
- Active RN license in Connecticut required
- Experience with both medical and psychiatric patient populations
- Prior experience in substance abuse treatment is preferred
- Proficient computer skills are necessary
- Strong knowledge of withdrawal symptoms
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent assessment capabilities
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly wage range: $35.00-$45.00
