Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at MaineHealth. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients of all ages, from infants to the elderly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate total nursing care for patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Participate in patient and family teaching, providing education and support to promote healthy outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to maintain standards of professional nursing practice and ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account patient needs, preferences, and goals.
  • Administer medications, perform medical procedures, and provide wound care as needed.
  • Document patient information accurately and thoroughly, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
Requirements
  • Active Maine or New Hampshire LPN license (or RN license for RN position)
  • Current BCLS certification (BLS for RN position)
  • ACLS certification for critical care departments (if applicable)
  • Other certifications specific to department policies may be required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Strong time management, problem-solving, and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to calculate and administer drug dosages and injections, and measure results
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor, even in high-stress situations
  • Proficient computer skills, with experience using electronic medical records and other healthcare software
Preferred Qualifications
  • One or more years of experience in medical/surgical or geriatric nursing
