Position Overview:

The Humanities and Sciences Division at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty role in the field of Economics. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering college-level Economics courses to a diverse student body enrolled in various programs, including technical, transfer degree, and non-degree pathways.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary instructor and course coordinator for all Economics classes, focusing on Microeconomics and Macroeconomics.
  • Engage in the development and evaluation of the Economics curriculum.
  • Support the overarching mission of the College, Division, and Department.
  • Participate in curriculum oversight, assessment, and ongoing enhancement of Economics offerings.
  • Contribute to committee work and service initiatives across the College.
  • Engage in professional development to remain updated on effective teaching methodologies.
  • Be available to teach during day, evening, weekend, and online sessions across various campuses.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as required of tenure-track faculty.
  • Complete other assigned duties as necessary.
Specific Duties:
  • Deliver engaging, student-centered instruction that fosters a conducive learning environment and promotes student success.
  • Provide students with a comprehensive syllabus detailing learning outcomes, course expectations, assessment methods, and timelines.
  • Prepare all instructional materials and lesson plans.
  • Utilize relevant software and technologies pertinent to course content.
  • Create real-world learning experiences that align with the established learning outcomes.
  • Submit grades and administrative documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain designated office hours as per the Division's policy.
  • Attend and participate in College, Departmental, and Divisional meetings.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Economics, MBA in Finance, or a related field with at least 18 graduate-level Economics credits.
  • A minimum of one year of teaching experience at a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn the College's Learning Management System.
  • Experience in curriculum development.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Three years of teaching experience in Economics at the college level.
  • Experience in a two-year technical or community college setting.
  • Experience in online course instruction and development.

Teaching Philosophy Statement:
