Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Elementary Teacher to join our team at Paramount Schools of Excellence. As a key member of our educational community, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, fostering a positive learning environment, and collaborating with colleagues to drive student success.

Responsibilities
  • Instructional Leadership: Provide direct instruction to students in whole-class, small group, and individual settings, utilizing data-driven approaches to ensure delivery of standards-driven instruction.
  • Assessment and Grading: Complete assessments, grading, planning, and conferences with students, staff, and families within established timelines.
  • Classroom Management: Ensure appropriate classroom implementation of BIPs, FBA's, IEPs, and 504 programs, and complete any additional reporting as requested by the Special Education Director or counselor.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Develop and maintain regular family communication and community partnerships, and contribute to a strong school education team by serving on school and/or community committees.
  • Professional Development: Participate in annual training and/or professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices in education.
Requirements
  • Education: Valid Indiana State Teaching License or equivalent, and a Bachelor's degree in a field of education.
  • Experience: Prior successful full-time education experience in a similar setting is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people, and proficiency in technology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Charter School Experience: Prior experience in charter schools is preferred.
  • Community Knowledge: Knowledge of current community challenges and opportunities relating to the mission of Paramount Schools of Excellence is preferred.
Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Duties are normally performed in a school/classroom environment. Duties may be occasionally performed on field trips away from school. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The Elementary Teacher works a standard workweek, but may work evenings, weekends, and any additional hours necessary to accommodate activities such as committees, fundraisers, public meetings, and representing the organization at public events.
