Job Overview:
Responsible for overseeing the management of a significant unit or multiple units that deliver outpatient services. Ensures that the team provides exceptional, accessible, and cost-efficient care while maintaining a patient-centered approach that adheres to local, state, and federal regulations. Develops and upholds clinical practice standards, financial plans, and staff training initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversees the daily operations of one or more units, ensuring compliance with the Nurse Practice Act and standards set by regulatory bodies.
  • Works collaboratively with the physician team leader, department head, and nursing supervisor to enhance patient services and manage departmental operations.
  • Establishes and upholds standards for patient care and quality service to meet the expectations of members and internal stakeholders.
  • Acts as an advocate for patients, addressing and resolving care-related concerns.
  • Evaluates and suggests improvements to processes that enhance systems and patient care outcomes across the care continuum.
  • Assists in formulating and tracking budgets and resource distribution. Monitors financial performance and proposes strategies to optimize costs while enhancing care quality.
  • Helps manage and resolve issues related to human resources, labor relations, employee safety, and risk management.
  • Determines the optimal staffing structure for the department and develops procedures for screening, interviewing, hiring, training, and maintaining staff competency.
  • Facilitates ongoing professional development for staff. Implements and monitors departmental policies and procedures that align with organizational goals and objectives.

Minimum Qualifications: Experience
  • At least two (2) years of supervisory experience is required.
Education
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related health field, or four (4) years of nursing experience.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) is required.
License, Certification, Registration
  • Registered Nurse License (California)
  • Basic Life Support certification
Additional Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with the Nurse Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and other relevant regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior nursing experience in outpatient settings.
  • Clinical specialization in relevant practice areas is preferred.
