The Department of Biotechnical and Clinical Laboratory Sciences (BCLS) at the State University of New York at Buffalo is seeking exceptional candidates for a full-time Instructional Support Associate role.

Successful candidates will enhance the existing strengths within the department.Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare laboratory settings, ensuring the availability of necessary chemicals for experiments;
- Organize and maintain teaching apparatus and instruments to guarantee precision and effective performance;
- Oversee supplies and equipment inventories by managing orders and organization of materials.
Applicants should possess hands-on experience with laboratory experiments and familiarity with standard laboratory equipment (e.g., pH meters, spectrophotometers, separation techniques).
The Instructional Support Associate will undertake various laboratory-related tasks, including but not limited to organizing and maintaining laboratory equipment for instructional labs, preparing lab environments, and facilitating student engagement in learning activities alongside faculty.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or an Associate degree accompanied by two years of laboratory experience.
Experience with standard laboratory equipment operation (e.g., pH meters, spectrophotometers, separation techniques) is essential.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent organizational abilities, are required, as is the capacity to collaborate effectively within a team.
Knowledge of laboratory facilities and equipment maintenance, teaching laboratory materials, basic mathematical calculations, and fundamental statistics and data analysis is necessary.
Familiarity with electronic and computerized laboratory equipment is also expected.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient experience with separation equipment, including HPLC and GC;
- Prior experience in a teaching laboratory as an assistant or research technician;
- Ability to utilize, calibrate, configure, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments;
- Demonstrated computer skills for operating laboratory instrument software.
Salary Range:
$60,000 - $65,000
The salary range reflects a good faith estimate of potential compensation at the time of posting, considering the role's responsibilities and the candidate's experience, education, and training.
