About the Role
Medical City Dallas is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a vital part of our patient care team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department.
Responsibilities
- Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
Requirements
- Certificate in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent.
- State Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician or State Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT), Licensed Certified Respiratory Therapist (LCRT), or RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT/RCP).
