Radiologic Technologist II

The Radiologic Technologist II is a key member of our diagnostic imaging team at Appalachian Regional Healthcare. As a skilled professional, you will be responsible for operating advanced imaging equipment to produce high-quality images for use in patient diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist radiologists in special procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.
• Prepare patients for examinations, explaining the radiology process and obtaining consent when necessary.
• Perform and assist with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, maintaining optimal patient safety and image quality.
• Select and operate equipment for ultrasound setups, adhering to examination specifications.
• Identify and analyze images to determine their diagnostic value, making recommendations for further testing as needed.
• Photograph and record images, attaching identification tags for accurate record-keeping.
• Collaborate with supervisory personnel to discuss test results and determine additional examination requirements.
• Report equipment issues to the Director, ensuring prompt resolution and minimizing downtime.
• Perform mammography exams according to FDA guidelines, if certified to do so.
• Transport patients safely and efficiently between floors and the ER, as needed.
• Prepare and administer contrast media, oral and IV, opaque media, or nuclear medicine, as required.
Requirements:
• Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic Technology training in an AMA-approved school.
• Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and completion of training courses in Ultrasound Technology, Nuclear Medicine, and CT scan, where available.
• Maintenance of state licenses, as required.
