Position Overview
We are currently in search of a Manager, E&S Claims to lead and oversee the Excess and Surplus Lines Claims team. This role is crucial in ensuring that all assigned Excess and Surplus Lines Liability claims are managed promptly, effectively, and in compliance with State Laws and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish work objectives and plan workloads and deadlines for the team. Assess procedures, workflows, and time management; identify potential volume or workflow challenges and implement improvements. Communicate policy or procedural updates to relevant departments.
  • Set accurate and timely loss/expense reserves in line with Claim guidelines. Authorize denials, reserve adjustments, and other claim-related decisions, ensuring adherence to reserve, payment, and expense authorities.
  • Formulate litigation and file disposition strategies, directing defense counsel throughout all phases of litigated files while employing appropriate litigation management controls.
  • Analyze reports and utilize various resource tools to identify trends. Monitor trend outcomes to align with division and corporate objectives. Prepare and evaluate a range of reports on assigned claim activities.
  • Review selected active E&S Claims Team cases, assess their status and direction, and provide guidance for file management and resolution.
  • Address service issues directly with agents or policyholders, including conducting personal visits and file assessments as necessary.
  • Identify and resolve procedural and coverage challenges; investigate and address inquiries from the Division, Department of Insurance, claimants, policyholders, and agencies.
  • Conduct file reviews in accordance with Claim guidelines, ensuring regular and precise reserve evaluations by supervisors and adjusters.
  • Manage and oversee DCC and A&O expense utilization within the area of responsibility.
