About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Gift Officer, Individual Giving to join our team at Make-A-Wish® Illinois. As a key member of our Development team, you will play a critical role in helping us achieve our revenue goals and further our mission to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the organization to identify and cultivate prospective donors, with a focus on mid-level and annual fund giving.
  • Manage a portfolio of individual donors, including prospects and existing donors, to upgrade annual gifts and build the major and planned gift pipelines.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve performance metrics and funding goals, set annually.
  • Utilize and maintain database systems and processes to plan, track, and prioritize prospect/donor activity.
  • Learn and adapt to the working structure between Make-A-Wish America and the Illinois Chapter.
  • Engage current Make-A-Wish volunteers and friends to develop donor relationships.
  • Staff and support the implementation of donor engagement opportunities at events, wishes, and through stewardship.
  • Represent and travel to all regions of the state to proactively prospect and engage with donors at fundraising events, meetings, and activities.
Requirements
  • Self-motivated and driven to achieve and surpass goals.
  • Proven record of relationship building and successful gift solicitations.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  • 3 or more years of individual fundraising experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred).

  • Hiring Range: $70,000 - $75,000.
