Job Title: Network Engineer

At Nightwing, we are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying advanced network communications and cybersecurity capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Agile Scrum teams to implement advanced network communications and cybersecurity capabilities.
  • Select and configure hardware and software for network infrastructure services.
  • Develop and configure solutions for networking devices, including firewalls, load balancers, routers, and switches.
  • Implement firewall policies and perform break-fix actions/O&M, including on-site work as needed.
  • Upgrade and maintain network device software for compliance and vulnerabilities.
  • Sustain ISA networking architecture and data center hardware management.
  • Monitor network status and respond to issues/tickets using network monitoring and performance tools.
  • Work with engineering to develop high-quality technical documentation.
Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Active/current Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • DHS Suitability.
  • Ability to work first shift schedule.
  • Ability to travel domestically.
  • Ability to support on-site work (hybrid schedule).
  • 4+ years of professional networking experience.
  • TCP/IP networking, VPN encryption, firewalls, and SNMP-based network management experience.
  • Advanced troubleshooting experience in Layer 2 functionality and protocol in a Cisco/Juniper environment.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and implementing Layer 3 routing protocols over a multi-site environment in a Cisco/Juniper environment.
  • Strong knowledge of configuring and troubleshooting IPSEC VPN and firewall architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN protocols.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with BGP and OSPF routing protocols.
  • Experience using network monitoring and automation tools for troubleshooting and task simplification.
  • Technical understanding of cybersecurity attack techniques and associated mitigation techniques.
  • Experience troubleshooting and implementing VPN technologies.
  • Experience implementing firewall base policies using Juniper firewalls.
  • Familiarity with AWS and/or Azure networking and connectivity to on-prem environments.
Education:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Network Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Six (6) years of experience may be substituted for a degree.

Certifications:

Infrastructure-related certification preferred, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA-Junos), or Juniper Networks Certified Specialist Security (JNCIS-SEC).

Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification.
