OverviewThe Cooper Surgery Center in Voorhees, also known as VSC, is an Outpatient Surgical Center operated by the hospital, following similar guidelines as the surgical areas in Camden.
Patient care is provided in a safe and efficient manner, with patients being sent home following their procedures. In the event of complications, patients are either sent to Cooper in Camden or the closest medical facility.
Pre-Admission screening is conducted by VSC before scheduled procedures.
Patients are provided with an arrival time, registered, and escorted to the pre-operative area where they are prepared for the procedure.
They are then met by Anesthesia and their Surgeon, and once completed, they proceed to the OR. Following the procedure, patients recover in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) before being sent home.
Job SummaryThe Registered RN is a professional care-giver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame.
They supervise and provide care to these patients utilizing the nursing process, including the therapeutic use of self.
The ideal candidate will follow established policies and procedures, communicate openly with internal customers and supervisors, and provide excellent customer service interfacing well with all levels of staff, management, and physicians.
They will also apply Cooper core values and perform other duties as required.
RequirementsExperience:
- 1 year of OR experience is required
Education:
- Graduate of NLN accredited School of Nursing
License/Certification:
- Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse)
- Current NJ-BLS Certification (Basic Life Support)
- Current NJ-CNOR (Certified Nurse, Operating Room) preferred
- Certain specialties may require advanced certification (i.e. ACLS, NALS, PALS)
