The Athletic Trainer will function under the direction of a physician, providing services related to the prevention, recognition, evaluation, management, disposition, treatment, or rehabilitation of physically active individuals who have sustained an injury, illness, or other condition involving sport, exercise, training, or related physical activity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel to area high schools to provide on-site services for practices, sporting events, and/or clinic hours, including other duties as assigned.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans for student athletes.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify and address injuries or illnesses.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention programs to promote a safe and healthy environment for student athletes.
  • Stay up-to-date on evidence-informed athletic training practices and share knowledge with the team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field.
  • Florida License as Athletic Trainer.
  • BOC certification.
  • Emergency Cardiac Care certification (e.g. BLS or ACLS) from American Heart Association.
  • Less than one year of on-field Athletic Training experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Athletic Training or related field.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Able to recognize problems and work systematically and logically to resolve them.
  • Seeks to develop self and others.
  • Contributes to a safe environment for student athletes by following established procedures and protocols.

Age of Patients Served:

Adolescent years and Adult years.
