Position Overview - Manufacturing Assembly Technician

Location: Huntsville, AL

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the training and skill enhancement of fellow assembly technicians.
  • Offer technical assistance to supervisors and engineering teams.
  • Develop Visual Work Instructions (VWIs) utilizing 3D CAD technology.
  • Document standard operating procedures using ProPlanner and PINPoint.
  • Organize all components to align with the operational sequence.
  • Establish routings for new models and input labor standards in collaboration with manufacturing engineering.
  • Implement Component Verification scanning and resolve production issues.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to document verification processes.
  • Set up Broadcast systems to provide clear guidance to operators.
  • Utilize queries to create pick lists of unique component parts for pilot builds.
  • Work alongside the materials team and production to manage component flow based on effectiveness dates.
  • Engage in VIP Program and Kaizen events.

Work activities will primarily involve creating standard work instructions in ProPlanner, structuring work instruction content in PINPoint, developing build sequences and routing structures in PINPoint, and integrating Atlas Copco torque tools (via their Smart Cart) into workstations.
