Currently, Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) is seeking an Outpatient Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist (RPE/CFY) to operate under the Clinical Supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist or Therapy Services Supervisor. The Speech Language Pathologist - RPE/CFY will assess and treat patients with speech and/or language delays or disorders, while also providing early intervention and consultation services for children aged 0-5 years, thereby acquiring the clinical experience necessary for professional licensure.

Additionally, the SLP-RPE/CFY may conduct presentations and workshops on speech/language development and communication disorders.

As a Speech Language Pathologist, you are committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality Speech Language Therapy to a varied patient base, with a particular focus on the uninsured, low-income, and medically underserved.

Key Responsibilities:


- Evaluate and diagnose speech and language disorders across all age groups, providing tailored assessments and consultations based on individual patient needs and physician directives, in line with specific program guidelines.

- Deliver treatment and speech/language therapy for patients with a range of disorders, including developmental delays, dysphasia, dyspraxia, dysfluency, and voice disorders.

- Oversee early intervention follow-up for children and equip parents with strategies for speech/language stimulation.

- Provide treatment at various clinic locations within the FHCSD network or at contracted off-site locations, depending on caseload requirements.

- When conducting home visits, responsibilities include scheduling, maintaining communication with parents/caregivers, modeling intervention techniques, monitoring progress, and assessing the home environment.

- Develop, document, and clearly communicate treatment goals and plans for SLPAs following evaluations or consultations.

- Ensure all SLPA treatment plans receive approval from the supervising SLP.
- Collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.

- Consult and communicate with team members to monitor patient progress, participate in case conferences, and contribute to program planning meetings.

- Assist in delivering presentations for staff and patients.

- Complete all necessary documentation accurately and promptly, adhering to departmental standards and insurance requirements.

- Manage your schedule proactively, confirming appointments and optimizing time and resources during home visits.
- Ensure compliance with RPE requirements and progress towards SLP licensure.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Ability to travel within San Diego County as needed, with proof of vehicle insurance required.

Driver Qualifications:

- Minimum of 3 years licensed driving experience; no more than 2 violations or accidents in the past 3 years; no vehicle-related suspensions; no DUI or felony driving offenses in the last 7 years.

- California State licensure for RPE SLP is mandatory.
- CFY (ASHA) in Speech Pathology is preferred.
- CPR Certification is required.
- Experience with young children (ages 0-5) is preferred.
- A Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology is required.

Your final base salary will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience.

Please note that the mentioned range reflects our reasonable expectations for this role.

Hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow for future salary growth.
