Job Title: Adjunct Faculty in Business

Job Summary:

Fisk University is seeking a part-time adjunct faculty member to teach courses in Business Administration. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to enhance their academic, scholarly, and creative abilities while contributing to the university's mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach a full range of courses in Business with one or more specialty areas such as International Business, Economics, Statistics, Business Management, Marketing, Small Business Management, Human Resources, Applied Calculus, Purchasing/Supply Management, Finance, and Entrepreneurship.
  • Prepare and deliver learning activities to achieve course outcomes.
  • Prepare course materials, including syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
  • Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, papers, and examinations.
  • Maintain and submit student attendance records, grades, and other required documentation by specified deadlines.
  • Respond to students' emails within a 24-hour time frame.
  • Participate in periodic meetings with the supervisor or Chair of the department.

Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related field with experience in teaching a variety of courses in subdisciplines of Business.
  • A minimum of 3 years of successful teaching experience in the field of Business.
  • Proven ability to cultivate professional relationships with local, state, and federal businesses.

Additional Requirements:

  • A background and credit check will be required of the successful applicant.
  • An official transcript (if applicable) and names, addresses, and phone numbers of three (3) references will be required of the successful applicant.

Work Environment:

The selected candidate will work in a normal office environment with moderate noise levels.
